A lot of the photographs on the left were lent to us by the late Bobby Hackworth. After restoring them we decided they were good enough to post onto the site.

The Royal Irish Regiment returned to Belfast to a heroes welcome. The Regiment served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Many of the people from the Millisle area were there to cheer them home on 2nd November 2008.

Over recent years the lagoon area has had major work carried out and the whole area looks much cleaner and brighter.
